My number one advice anytime someone is struggling, and you’re trying to figure out how to help them… Don’t tell them to calm down. One of the things I hear is just, Don’t be depressed. Bring her over, let me cook for her. She just needs a really good meal. Oh, what an amazing idea! Don’t be depressed! Calm down, nothing’s wrong. You’re being silly. What’s going on?! No pain, no gain. Don’t show your emotions. Go to church and pray on it. Yeah, I just don’t think depression is a thing. As if, having mental help professionals and
medication, which is what I needed at the time, weren’t the answers to this physiological
challenge that I was being confronted with. It makes you feel little bit more alone, if
somebody else can’t where you’re feeling.
