The healthier we are the stronger we are. The partnership when UConn has made the tribe stronger. It’s definitely refocused our attention
towards farming and healthier eating. The good thing about UConn is they are eager to teach and they are equally eager to learn. So we’ve been able to work with them to
ensure that some of our traditional protocols and actual farming techniques
have been cornerstone to this project. With the grant, that’s helped us
bring back a lot of traditional ceremonies because we’re able to grow these things with the money that we didn’t potentially have before that the
grant has offered us. We’ve been able to tap into the children
get them educated. You know it’s just a good example for the younger generation
to see. So that that’s what makes me proud.
